TEACHING - COMMUNITY ART, PUBLIC ART
"SPIRIT VESSELS" A Community Art Project to provide a space for solace and reflection in response to the Gulf Coast BP Oil Spill. Over 70 community members created biodegradeable boats holding effigy figures of lives/animals lost in the spill. These were relased in a memorial service in June 2010.
"MAPS ON PURPOSE", Baltimore, Md. Artist facilitator hired through "Art on Purpose" to lead two urban communityworkshops for adults and children using art to dialogue and bring awareness to community concerns. Participants made huge maps of their neighborhood, which were displayed in the community and at Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore, MD. 2007-2008.
"DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY LOBBY FABRIC MURAL" The New Orleans Private Industry Council and the Arts Council of New Orleans Urban Arts Training Program. Led teens in creation of a permanent fabric mural to decorate the lobby of the Daughters of Charity Health Clinic. (destroyed in Katrina).
"THE NATURAL WORLD" This is a ceramic public art project created by Talented Visual art students at Fontainebleau High School's Talented Art Program, and funded by a five hundred dollar grant by the FHS PTA. Students created a ceramic and wood frieze decorating the entrance to the school library. Spring, 2005.
"UNDER THE SEA" Students at Carolyn Park Elementary Talented Art Program completed a sculptural relief in wood of an underwater sea scene, which was installed in a rock garden in the school. Winter/Spring 1999-2000.

"DRAWING AS MEDITATION"-A one hour workshop taught at an Art of Living meditation class, introducing drawing as a meditative practice. June, 2010
"HELLO TOMATO" -A drawing workshop teaching introductory drawing skills with an emphasis on an organic, body based and yogic approach to skill development. Summers, 2009-2010 and ongoing. New Orleans LA and Austin, TX
"RETREAT FACILITATOR-HILDEGIRLS RETREATS WITH SUSAN LINCOLN" Visual arts facilitator for overnight retreat focusing on the singing the music of Hildegarde of Bingen for spiritual nourishment/growth. Projects were designed for individual and collaborative creation. Summers 2010, 2009, January 2009. Austin TX.
